Chirote | How to make chirote | Diwali faral recipe |quick and easy recipe
Chirote or Chiroti is a delicacy predominantly served in Karnataka and Maharashtra. It is usually made during Diwali.It is my most fav sweet
It is a traditional fried flaky pastry which is then either dusted with white sugar .Make your Diwali special this time by making Chiroti / Chirote - it's actually very easy to make!
Chirote / Chiroti
1/2 cup rawa
2 tbsp Melted Ghee
A pinch of pink salt
2 tbsp rice flour
3 tbsp Ghee for making sata/paste
1/2 cup powered sugar
2.Pour the hot melted ghee
3.Mix well and knead to a soft dough
4. Add milk and water to make a soft dough
5.Cover and leave it for 2 hours atleast
6. Make 6 equal balls
7.Roll each one of them into paper-thin chapatis.
For saati /Paste to apply
Take the ghee Whisk it nicely until ghee becomes smooth and light.
Add rice flour, again whisk until it becomes creamy and fluffy.
8.Roll as thin as possible to get cripsy chirote
9.Apply the sata/paste on each of the rotis rolled be gently
10.Repeat the same for other two
11.Now gently roll the pilled up rotis into a log and cut into 1/2 thick circles. Make another log following the same process using the remaining three rotis.
12.Roll each slice into a poori shape.do it gently.
13.Deep fry the chirotis on a medium flame, flipping them gently to cook all over.
14.Splash the hot oil from the sides using the spoon on top of the chiroti.This helps in puffing up chiroti nicely and all the layers will get separated.Sprinkle cardamom flavored sugar powder
crispy on Chirotis.
