Beetroot Puri | Healthy Puri

Beetroot puri is nutritious and healthy dish,  you can serve this with any of your favourite veggies or gravy. Beetroot gives puri a nice colour which makes everyone want to have it, especially kids. It’s a good way of beetroot intake which is a rich source of iron.Beetroot puri is easy to prepare and can be served for lunch, breakfast or dinner. It also gives your daily usual menu a nice variant and healthy twist.My guests loved it am sure even you wil! Give a try....

INGREDIENTS

1Small Beetroot
1 cup Wholewheat flour
1 tbsp Plain flour/maida
1/2 tsp cumin seeds powder
1/3 tsp Ajwain seeds
Salt to taste

METHOD

1.Peel  beetroot Chop roughly .
2. Blend it adding little water and strain the beetroot juice.
3.Add wholewheat flour , plain flour/maida , cumin seeds powder, ajwain seeds and Salt .
4.Add beetroot juice slowly and knead a soft dough .
5.Add 1 tsp oil. divide into equal balls (you should get about 15-17 portions). Flatten the ball and  roll out into a 8cm disc. Heat oil in a kadhai or wok for deep frying.
6.Deep fry the puri in the oil. At this stage it will sink into the oil gradually rising to the surface.
7.Serve them warm with Veg Kurma or a curry of your choice
