Pomfret fish fry recipe | Fish tawa fry | Pomfret fish fry Maharastrian style
Indian style crispy fish fry made with pomfret fish. If you are a seafood lover then Pomfret fish fry is the perfect comfort food to take a break from your daily monotonous meals. Its flavorful and aromatic taste aside, it is quite an easy and quick recipe to make. When I make this, I can't stop eating as I'm a fish lover. Pomfret fish fry can be enjoyed as a delicious appetizer or can be accompanied with rice and rasam / dal as a main dish. Either way it’s going to taste yum!
INGREDIENTS
Kolhapuri masala or Garam masala powder - 2tsp
Coriander powder - 3/4 tsp
Ajwain seeds - 1/4 tsp
Rawa / Semolina - 2 tbsp
Rice flour - 2 tbsp
Ginger and garlic paste - 1/2 tsp each
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Kokum - 2/3 soak in water for 10 mins
Salt to taste
Oil - for shallow frying
Method
- Clean the fish well
- For the marination add kolhapuri masala, ajwain seeds, jeera powder, turmeric powder, red chilly powder, garlic paste, ginger paste, salt, coriander leaves, kokum (soaked in water)
- Mix well and apply the paste on both sides Marinate atleast for 1 hour
- Take a plate, add Rawa and Rice flour, coat the fish well. This will give the fish a crispy crust.
- Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry the fish for eight to ten minutes on both sides
- Serve hot!
